A Love Letter to the Woman Behind the Camera: The Self Portrait Series
The Self Portrait Series is here because I hear it all the time — from women like you, and honestly, from myself too: “I never have beautiful photos of me because I’m always the one behind the camera.” Let’s change that — with a series that invites you to step in front of the lens and see yourself in a whole new way ✨
You don’t need a fancy camera. You don’t need a professional shoot. Your iPhone is more than enough. Most of my favorite self portraits were taken with mine.
Since Spring 2024, I’ve been on a quiet, deep journey with self portraiture. What began as a playful challenge through Kasandra Mitchell’s Self Portrait Challenge turned into something far more profound🌸
Self Portraits became my mirror.
A way to test my skills. A space to stretch creatively. A practice in seeing myself — really seeing myself — with clarity, softness, and power.
For much of my life, I’ve struggled with that. To witness myself fully. To recognize the strength and beauty others said they saw in me.
But photography — especially self portraiture — has become one of my clearest portals inward. And the more I practice, the more I see myself not just as I appear — but as I am.
The portraits featured here were taken last summer, after getting full glam.
I remember thinking: “What would it look like to fully show up?” Not just as a photographer. But as a muse. As an artist. As a woman in her power.
The results from my own Self Portraits?
Stunning images that moved me deeply. Images that supported both my business and my becoming. And a deeper knowing of how to hold and guide the women I photograph every day.
Plus, integrating authentic self-portraits into your online presence elevates your personal branding —showing clients the real, confident you and strengthening the emotional connection to your work.
Later that year, I launched 31 Days to 31, a self portrait challenge leading up to my birthday. It was creative. Expressive. Soul nourishing. A gentle celebration of myself and everything I’ve lived through.
And now? This Self Portrait Series is for you.
You deserve to see yourself fully — beautifully — confidently. And the best part? You don’t have to share a single photo unless you want to. You get to decide what’s sacred and what’s shared.
Inside the self portrait series offering, I guide you through everything:
✨ Creative prompts
✨ Posing & body awareness
✨ Finding the light
✨ Getting the shot — regardless of your gear
Some might say it’s bad business to “teach the how.” But I believe the opposite.
You deserve to know how to feel beautiful in front of your own lens. To be your own witness. To turn the camera around and say: “There I am. I see her now.”
Let’s change the narrative. Let’s bring the woman behind the camera into the frame.
Ready to begin your own self portrait series? Let this be your invitation to step in front of the camera and see yourself — fully, beautifully and unapologetically ✨
